Danis Domination

bombers's picture

Unsurprisingly, Yann Danis has taken the #1 role for the Bombers and have rocked the Bombshelter.  Danis posts the 2nd best SV% at 0.935 and 5th best GAA at 1.47 in the league, supported by a strong defensive cast.

Coach Randy Carlyle has decided to give Danis a day off against the Bullies for some rest and noted that  "if we kept playing the hot goaltender, we're not sure when Ellis would get a start, so we thought we'd keep Dan a start against a weak and pathetic opponent like the Bullies so he can ease back into the game.  Nothing against the Bullies...they just, sorta suck, you know?  They should be called the Bay Street Pussies instead."

The team's expected leaders have stepped up their play, with Mike Richards contributing 5 points in the last 5 games, and winning a respectable 47.0% of faceoffs.

In other news, Yara International ASA has decided to sponsor the Baghdad Bombers and have bought the naming rights to the Bombshelter stadium.  A anonymous spokesman from Yara notes, "Iraqi civilians have been strong supporters of Yara's nitrogen-based fertilizers for a while, and in particular, our ammonium nitrate products.  We don't know what they're doing with all that ammonium nitrate!"  As part of the sponsorhip, Yara has stopped the indoor fireworks at the Bombshelter, for fear of igniting the ammonium nitrate that fans seem to be bringing to the games.
