Thrashers 2016 draft summary

Thrashers entered the 2016 draft with the most picks in franchise history. With a weak goalie pipeline, the goal was to add more goalies through the additional picks - hopefully some will pan out.... GM Lau managed to snatch every player he gunned for except The Professional Russian, Dmitry Sokolov - may he gain 50 pounds of fat and lose his already low work ethic
#14 Kieffer Bellows - 23GP 16G 16A for the USNTDP; 62GP 50G 31A for the US National U18 Team .... a power foreward who can score and hits just as hard
#28 Adam Mascherin - 65GP 35G 46A 81PTs... 5'10, 206... built like a tank, big time slap shot. Guess who else was 5'10, 200? Brett Hull!
#32 Will Bitten - 67GP 65PTs on a terrible team... he's either going to center the Thrashers first line, or be a players' rights activist in Kabul for Thrasher Nation hopefuls
#53 Cam Dineen - 68GP 59PTs... #2 scoring D man in the OHL, all situations player who may soon find himself on the Thrashers' first pairing next to Sami Vatanen or Hampus Lindholm
#56 Filip Gustavsson - goalie? or male model? Both have the same defining characteristic scouted-on by Thrashers scouts: Magnificent Hair
#67 Frederic Allard - 64GP 59PTs... #2 scoring D man in the QMJHL, and defying Thrashers' tradition of tiny defencemen - guess he won't be ducking below one of those Milan Lucic elbows
#80 Jeremy Helvig - no respect for the old man.... 19-3-1 record with 0.929/2.13 peripherals for Kingston, displaced last year's OHL goaltender of the year Lucas Peressini to become Kingston's new starter
#95 Adam Brooks - another oldie, putting up 120 points in the WHL. Dane Fox or Tanner Pearson? Only time will tell
#100 Colton Point... holds the record with a 107 save performance; winner and dominant at every level (ahem Jr. A ahem) he's played in, just might turn into the best of Thrashers' 3 goalie picks undervalued due to the level of competition
