Thrashers entered the 2016 draft with the most picks in franchise history. With a weak goalie pipeline, the goal was to add more goalies through the additional picks - hopefully some will pan out.... GM Lau managed to snatch every player he gunned for except The Professional Russian, Dmitry Sokolov - may he gain 50 pounds of fat and lose his already low work ethic
#14 Kieffer Bellows - 23GP 16G 16A for the USNTDP; 62GP 50G 31A for the US National U18 Team .... a power foreward who can score and hits just as hard

In a very active draft for the Bombers, the team went from 3 picks, to 8 picks and finally trading down to 6. Not everyone is blessed enough to wear a Bombers jersey, and the team wanted to keep it that way. Below are the lucky Chosen Ones in the 2016 BFHL draft.

Armed with the 5th overall pick, the Thrashers quickly cemented their future defense. Fans can look forward to Hanifin being paired with former lottery pick Adam Larsson, who quickly reclaimed his confidence after escaping the mismanagement of the Bullies franchise.
The rest of the Thrashers' picks were spread out amongst the later rounds, and GM Lau had to make do with selections of numerous boom/bust prospects to address the greatest organizational needs at the moment - scoring top 6 wingers
